Stormy Kromer is a heritage brand. Hand-stitched in the United States (in Michigan!) since 1903, these caps are designed to fit well and keep your head toasty warm. It all started when George “Stormy” Kromer, a Wisconsin native, asked his wife Ida to modify one of his baseball caps with wool. This new cap better kept out the cold, and the Stormy Kromer hat was born. (Read more about the history here!)
We’ve got tons of these cozy caps at the RP in everything from classic charcoal grey and buffalo plaid to feminine prints and floral appliquéd. Come down to the store and try one on! Perfect for one last night around the campfire up at the lake or just a chilly evening walk, these hats are classic.
And check out this cool video about the making of Stormy Kromer caps!
Fall is officially in the air and we’re kicking off the season with the Northfield Boutique Crawl! Join us for some after-hours shopping (the RP will be open until 6pm!) and a few refreshments. Visit all four downtown shops for your chance to win a $100 gift certificate!
To give you an idea of what we’ve got in store… We’ve got Smartwool socks, knit hats, tons of scarves, leather boots and stylish outerwear to keep you cozy this fall!
Long before Oprah declared UGG boots as one of her “favorite things” in 2003, the Rare Pair was carrying UGGs. Owner Krin Finger puts it simply: “I started carrying them years before they were the ‘it’ item. They were for warmth! Funny concept!” There’s no doubt about it. UGGs are warm, cozy and comfortable, and for Minnesotans who brave the cold every year, that means everything. I can’t tell you how many customers I’ve helped who’ve said, after slipping on a pair for the very first time, “Oh my God. These feel so good.”
Here are some favorites for Fall/Winter 2011:
UGG Lynnea Foldover Boot – $200
UGG Classic Short in Sangria and Chestnut (we’ve also got Chocolate) – $150
Baby UGGs (seriously adorable) – $50
We’ve received our allotted shipment of UGGs for the season (they’ve become so popular that we’re only allowed a certain number each year) – plenty of Classic Talls and Shorts, Bailey Buttons, Lattice Cardys, slippers and more! Don’t wait until December to get a pair – once they go, they’re gone!
It’s that time of year again! Yep, you guessed it – the Defeat of Jesse James Days is just around the corner. It’s time for corn dogs, cheese curds, browsing the art fair, going on rides (if you haven’t eaten too many cheese curds…), playing bingo for way too long, and simply enjoying the fact that the whole town gets together once a year to celebrate – because we sent an outlaw packing! What are you most looking forward to?
Down at the RP, we love DJJD. Seriously. It’s all about western-style boots, official DJJD gear, cowboy hats, and tons of denim.
Jesse James Days tees, available in green, blue, and black – $17
Frye Campus boots – $278
Frye Harness boots – $200
Clarks harness boots – $110
Be sure to stop by the RP when you’re downtown this weekend! We’d love to see you!
